ABOUT ME
Richard Todd Adams has been the chorus director at SJR since 2018 and has taught Communcation Arts 1 and 2 since 2022. He is one of the few actors in the world to have played both The Phantom and Raoul in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA as well as both Jean Valjean and Javert in LES MISERABLES. On Broadway, he has appeared in THE WOMAN IN WHITE, THE PIRATE QUEEN, and CATS. He is the 2008 Jeff Award winner for his portrayal of Javert in Chicago's Marriott Lincolnshire production of LES MISERABLES. Off-Broadway, he appeared in LITTLE FISH, BERLIN TO BROADWAY WITH KURT WEILL, and LISTEN TO MY HEART. Regionally, he has appeared in RAGTIME, JEKYLL AND HYDE, MAN OF LA MANCHA, SHOWBOAT, and has spent the last 20 years performing as Ted in 2 PIANOS, 4 HANDS across the world. He has sung with symphonies in Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Naples, and Omaha.
Richard also has a private voice studio where he teaches singing to all ages. He holds his Bachelors of Music from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and his Masters of Music from The Juilliard School.
