This past Wednesday, 30 members of the St. Joseph Regional High School Donnelly Scholars program had the opportunity to attend a special student matinee performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The group was accompanied by Mr. Donnelly and Mrs. Van Buskirk, who organized this enriching experience.
The performance, held at the New Jersey Shakespeare Theater on the campus of Drew University, brought the classic tale of ambition, power, and betrayal to life. The students were captivated by the talented cast and the engaging production, which offered a fresh perspective on one of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies.
Attending live theater provides the Donnelly Scholars with a unique opportunity to deepen their appreciation for literature and the performing arts. The experience not only enhanced their understanding of Shakespeare’s work but also sparked insightful discussions on themes that remain relevant today.
This outing is part of the Donnelly Scholars program's ongoing commitment to providing students with cultural experiences that extend beyond the classroom. It was a day filled with learning, inspiration, and a shared love for the arts.
