SJR Students Shine on Stage in AHA Musical

This past weekend, five SJR students performed in the 2023 AHA musical Twelfth Night- a lively, comedic musical based off of the play written by William Shakespeare.

There were a total of three performances, which all took place under the roof of the Inserra Theater at St Joseph Regional High School. While a majority of the rehearsal process was spent at Academy of the Holy Angels, the stage at the school was under construction and couldn't be utilized for this year's school production. The renovation of the AHA theater started early this school year and will be completed near the end of the summer. The SJR performing arts department provided a space for Holy Angels to perform.

The five SJR students involved in the production include Joseph Lizzi '26, Nicholas Pantano '25, Jack Laux '24, Jeffrey Guneratne '23, and Thomas Snyder '23. Freshman Joseph Lizzi described his experience as "an intriguing and eye-opening process that brought a new understanding of Shakespeare writing to the youth." Joseph also believed that the music in the show "had great pacing, conveyed emotions effectively, and was vivacious."

The show received overwhelmingly positive feedback from crowds who came to see the production. The whole cast and crew was thrilled to have been a part of Twelfth Night.

The SJR stage continues to house amazing, award-winning productions. The next performance on the SJR stage will be the school's drama "Clue". The show will be performed May 12th-14th in the Inserra Theater.
