SJR returned home Saturday to take on rival Paramus Catholic and the Green Knights did not disappoint. Audric Estime ‘21 set the tone early on breaking off a 61-yard touchdown on the first offensive possession for the Green Knights. The touchdown train kept chugging along for Estime, as he would rush for two additional scores along with a 30-yard touchdown reception to close out the first half. The senior running back totaled 191 yards on 13 carries and eclipsed the 1000 yard rushing mark in just his fifth game of the season.
With the score 29-6 at halftime the Green Knights defense showed why they are considered one of the top units in the state. Peter Schuh’s ‘22 second half interception of Kai Colon would lead to another SJR score, this time a 80-yard touchdown from senior QB Dorian Nowell to Blake Wypler ‘21.
The Green Knights Defense refused to let up as they shut out the Paladins in the second half. St. Joes would go on to win 43-6 over Paramus Catholic, improving to 3-2 on the season. The Green Knights hope to carry their momentum into next week’s game against Don Bosco Prep.
